Jack Salgado - Massage Therapist
"I prefer to think of myself as a one on one therapist, addressing the needs of my guest on a personalized level creating a specific massage for the targeted area/areas. Since relaxation and good well being is the goal of any massage, I help my guest achieve these through rhythmic breathing and muscle release techniques to achieve improved freedom of movement throughout the whole body. I employ various techniques such as deep tissue/sports, craniosacral, integrative, geriatric, acupressure, reflexology, aromatherapy, swedish and chair massage to help individuals improve their health on a physical, mental and energetic level."
Craniosacral Massage
Craniosacral massage taps into the inherent wisdom of the body which allows it to heal itself where possible.
The craniosacral system has a rhythm that can be felt throughout the body. Craniosacral massage therapists use a very light, soft touch to monitor this rhythm and pinpoint sources of obstruction and stress in the body.
Once located the therapist will assist the natural movement and release of the restriction to help the body self correct.
Craniosacral massage therapy can be used to treat childhood conditions such as poor sleep, restlessness, colic and ear infections. It is a gentle and non-invasive therapy and can be used to treat babies while they are asleep.
Integrative Massage
Integrative massage therapy is a treatment that involves the integration of therapy techniques from a number of different modalities including massage, somatic therapy and bodywork techniques. Some of the other therapy techniques that may be incorporated are touch therapy, psychotherapy, movement re-patterning, stress management, reflective listening, hypnotherapy, and energy work approaches.
Geriatric Massage
Geriatric massage is a specific massage technique used to treat the most common of ailments in the elderly population. Most often used as a preventative form of therapy, senior adults are benefiting from improved blood circulation and maintained range of motion with the application of geriatric massage.
